I began this game bored with baseball but ended the game excited about it again. I'm not quite sure how that happened.

Could it have the discussions of the new film adaptation of Thor? Maybe the debate about how new Met and king of the 3 run home run Jason Pridie pronounces his name. (It's Pride-ee by the way.) Maybe it was being amused by Marc being so grumpy about how loud the music and announcements were. "All I want to do is go to a game and be able to talk to my friends and I can't even do that!"

If not those things, it might have been Mitch likening his Blue Smoke chicken breast to Kate Moss. Or maybe a half inning discussion about what Pete Buck was up to before and after The Baseball Project show the week before. It could have been sharing the nuggets of wisdom that the world famous composer and father of a student in my class shared with me during a recent parent-teacher conference about how no one in the world is really happy, now are they?

Because it probably wasn't the excitement of seeing Andre Ethier extend his hitting streak to 30 games (it ended the next night). And it couldn't have been the exciting play of Jose Reyes who hit 2 triples, a double, scored twice, was on base 4 times, and stole a base. Or seeing Ike Davis blast his 7th home run. Or the Mets continuing their solid play of late.

It definitely wasn't any of those aspects of the night. It had to have been how much fun it is to see how angry Dave gets when he sees Cowbell Man who has decided to take the hyphen out of his name these days. And even that annoyed Dave who muttered to himself, "Cowbell Man, how are you spelling your name these days, asshole?"
