Tuesday night
with Marc and Erik
Norfolk, VA
It was Kraft Two for One night at the ballpark. All we needed to bring was a Kraft Cheese wrapper and we could get two tickets for the price of one! Erik had even bought some
cheese back in Brooklyn for this very purpose. Sadly, he left the wrapper back in NY. Luckily for us, a guy in line gave us an extra wrapper so the day was saved. We received high fives from the ticket takers as we entered. Lovely. Perhaps we received the high fives because it was Faith Night?
Back in '08, the three of us had a speed pitch competition. I peaked early in the trip with a completely underwhelming 56 MPH. Erik tied me in the last game but was in pain for days afterwards. Since then, he keeps trying to beat the vaunted 56. He hasn't been able to do it and I refuse to try until he does. I know my limitation.
On another note, I have countless photos on these trips of stadium workers and random passersby checking Erik out while he competes in stadium events. But they always ignore Marc and me. No judgement, just an observation.
The raccoon got scared and took off around the corner. Erik went for a closer look. Marc and I didn't want to get too close though. As Marc stated, "They've got the rabies."

What an event. As Erik pointed, "That was the first time I've ever heard 'Raccoon!" yelled at a game."
The view behind the bullpen. For at least an inning, I thought that the decrepit building by the water was the bullpen pitchers' bullpen. It wasn't.
After Orioles farmhand Ryan Adams hit a home run, a nearby battleship shot a celebratory firework display. Actually, that didn't happen but I wish that it had. There were no battleships or fireworks anywhere in sight on this night.
This did happen though - Marc said, "That ball was hit so hard it landed in Whiskeytown." Pause. Giggle. "I love me."

Other things of note:
1. There was a Timo Perez sighting on the Mud Hens! Timo!!!
2. We missed Jerry Lawler Night by a mere 5 days.
