Thursday

Salem Red Sox vs. Lynchburg Hillcats

July 21, 2011
Thursday night
with Marc and Erik
Salem, VA

After a day at the lake, it was time for some cornhole at the ballpark. We didn't do so well.

I don't remember much about this game other than a game was played while we were there.

Even the mascot is homophobic -you notice how he wouldn't even touch any of us?

It was Wing Night at the ballpark. There was a competition pitting local establishments against each other for our attention. Erik was warned but insisted he could handle the heat.

A few bites in, he was already facing some difficulties.

Second thoughts began to creep in.

Whoa Nellie.

Still alive somehow.

I think it was also 2 dollar beer night.

For the record, I think I only had a few sips.

Now there's a mascot who's not afraid to show some love!

Marc decided to pick a fight.

We ended up hanging out with some JMU students as the game ended. When I asked them when they thought I had graduated, one of them answered, "1982?" When I told him that would make me over 50-years-old, he shrugged and said something to the effect of "I'm not good with ages." I hate today's youth.

I've never stayed at a game so long after it was over. No one told us to leave.

I think Marc might have been chatting up that 20-year-old as we finally departed the stadium.

Marc couldn't stop showering the Assistant GM of the Salem Red Sox with much praise.

We got into our cab and the night took a not so good turn for Marc's wallet.
